President Sisi’s visit to Berlin

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi started on Sunday 28/10/2018 a four-day visit to Berlin during which President Sisi will hold a series of intensive meetings with German officials.

Starting from Sunday October 28, 2018, President Sisi will meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier as well as ministers of foreign affairs, interior, energy, economy, and transport to discuss ways of fostering cooperation.

Sisi will also participate for the second time in row in the G20 Compact with Africa (CwA) Summit. Germany is presiding over the G20 current round.

Merkel has invited the Egyptian President for holding talks, a matter which reflected the unique status of Egypt to Germany. The two leaders will discuss the strategic partnership and a number of issues of common interest.

Merkel is interested in listening to President Sisi's vision towards crises and challenges facing the Middle East region and Africa.

The Egyptian-German summit is the seventh meeting between Sisi and Merkel.
