President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s Statement Upon Being Awarded the National Order of Merit of Guinea

My Brother President Alpha Conde,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude for being awarded this high medal, which I consider an embodiment of the value of the deep historical ties that bind our two brotherly countries and peoples. I would like to emphasize that my current visit to your country, Guinea, will always be appreciated and valued.

I have been very pleased, Mr. President with the great hospitality I have received since my arrival in Conakry, which is not strange to your hospitable country and its people. I am sure that what has been agreed upon between us during this visit, will represent a new taking off and a push to our bilateral relations in various fields towards wider horizons, thus achieving the aspirations of our two brotherly peoples.

I would like to emphasize in this context that we need today, more than ever, to invoke the values and principles of African brotherhood and solidarity as the main engine of our relations and policies in the face of the current challenges. The realization of our hopes for the future of our two countries and African continent requires the continuation of our mutual hard work and the stress on our political will to strengthen our relations on all levels, thus creating a new reality for our countries and the continent, placing Africa on the international map and contributing to realizing the economic and social justice for all its citizens in a manner that would open the future before them.

Finally, I would like to reiterate my thanks and appreciation to Your Excellency my brother President Alpha Conde and the people of Guinea, for awarding me this high order. I take this opportunity to invite you to visit Cairo at the nearest future to follow up the results of our meetings and give us the chance to kindly respond to your warm welcome and generosity.
