President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has signed into a law a bill on licensing shops, after the House of Representatives had passed it.

The new law stipulates some conditions for shops to have licenses, and gives the owners of unlicensed shops a deadline of five years to have their status legalized.

The legislation was published in the official gazette on Thursday.
