Shoukry, Croatian President mull ties, regional issues

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed on Tuesday 15/10/2019 with Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović ways of boosting cooperation and regional issues.
Shoukry, at the beginning of the meeting, conveyed President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's greetings to the Croatian President, inviting her to visit Egypt soon, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Hafez said.
Shoukry congratulated Kitarović on her country's upcoming presidency of the European Union in the first half of 2020.
The foreign minister said he is looking forward to more cooperation with Croatia during its coming EU presidency in all fields, stressing the importance of expanding horizons of cooperation and exchanging high-level visits.
They tackled cooperation in the tourism, technology, renewable energy, and food industries as well as the possibility of signing agreements between the Egyptian and Croatian ports.
The Croatian president welcomed Shoukry's first-ever visit to Zagreb, saying her country pays attention to enhancing ties with Egypt.
She was briefed on the Egyptian vision on ways of facing the joint challenges as well as the Egyptian stances towards regional issues, topped by the Syrian crisis and the Turkish offensive.
