'Arab experts in anti-corruption convention' kicks off



The third meeting of the committee of Arab governmental experts, which is an offshoot of the first conference of member states of the Arab Convention Against Corruption, kicked off here on Monday 11/11/2019.


The meeting is held under the chairmanship of Morocco and in the presence of Director of Technical Secretariat of Arab Justice Ministers Cabinet Minister Plenipotentiary Yasser Abdel Moniem.


The convention's member states are Egypt, Kuwait, Jordan, the UAE, Bahrain, Tunisia, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Iraq, Oman, Palestine, Morocco and Qatar.


The meeting falls within the framework of implementing the recommendations of the convention's second conference which was held recently at the Arab League premises.


The committee will follow up the progress realized so far in implementing the recommendations issued during the second conference and refer its recommendation to the convention's third conference.


The Arab convention was approved by Arab ministers of interior and justice in 2010 to promote Arab cooperation in the face of corruption. It was put into effect in June 2013.
