France's Arianespace to launch "Tiba 1" communication satellite Friday

French company Arianespace is to launch Egypt's first communication satellite "Tiba 1" into orbit on Friday's evening.

Tiba-1 is due to be launched on an Ariane 5 rocket from a space center in French Guiana, near Brazil.

The satellite, planned to remain in orbit for about 15 years, will offer telecommunication services and broadband internet to individuals and companies in the country, as well as some North African states and Nile Basin countries.

The launching will be aired at 11:08 pm Cairo local time on all Egyptian channels.
