Grand Egyptian Museum to open during Q4 of 2020 -- Tourism minister

The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) is set to open during the last quarter of 2020, Tourism and Antiquities Minister Khaled Al-Anani told President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Saturday 15/2/2020.
The minister's remark was made during a meeting with President Sisi, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and General Supervisor of the GEM Project Maj. Gen. Atef Moftah.
Anani posted the president on the latest progress in the museum display arrangements, including a plan to transport the solar boats of Pharaoh Khufu to the museum, the details of the GEM operation project and the training and technical courses regularly provided for the museum staff, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.
Sisi directed the bodies concerned to complete the project in such a manner that reflects the greatness and uniqueness of the Egyptian civilization, while ensuring its integration with its surroundings.
Sisi also stressed that the project must be in harmony with the state's cultural efforts, especially the City for Culture and Arts under construction in the New Administrative Capital, which is envisioned to serve as the Middle East's most important beacon of cultural, artistic as well as intellectual creativity.
