FM briefs int'l leaders on Cairo Declaration on Libya

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Saturday 06/06/2020 made separate phone calls with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki.
Shoukry posted the two officials on the new political initiative President Abdel Fattah El Sisi announced earlier today during a joint press conference with Commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA) Khalifa Haftar, and Speaker of Libya's House of Representatives Aguila Saleh.
The minister underlined Egypt's commitment to coordinate with all relevant parties in pursuit of a political settlement to the Libyan crisis in light of today's initiative and the objectives adopted in the Berlin Process to restore stability in Libya.
Shoukry made similar phone calls with his counterparts in Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Niger, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Jordan.
