President Sisi meets Greek FM

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias on Thursday 18/6/2020. Sisi welcomed Dendias' visit which reflects the distinguished strategic ties between Egypt and Greece. The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and Director of General Intelligence Abbas Kamel in addition to the Greek ambassador to Egypt.
During the meeting, President Sisi asserted the depth of strategic relations with Greece and expressed keenness on boosting cooperation at all levels whether bilaterally or within the framework of the three-way mechanism which also involves Cyprus.
The president asserted Egypt's interest in boosting cooperation mechanisms with Greece to serve the benefit of both countries especially in the military, trade and energy fields.
Meanwhile, Dendias delivered the greetings of the Greek prime minister to Sisi, noting that his country is keen on its cooperation relations with Egypt.
He lauded Egypt's role in combating illegal migration, terror and extremist thought.
The meeting witnessed exchanging points of view on regional issues of mutual concern.
The meeting also tackled the Libyan file in light of the Cairo Declaration initiative.
