FM, UN chief discuss situation in Libya over phone

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed in a phone call with UN Secretary General António Guterres the situation in Libya.
During the phone conversation, Shoukry affirmed Egypt's supportive stance of any Libyan-Libyan political solution, away from foreign interference and attempts to dominate the war-torn country.
The top Egyptian diplomat told Guterres that Cairo is keen on strengthening permanent and regular coordination with the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), with a view to pushing forward the political solution in the North African country, based on the recent Cairo Declaration and the outcome of Berlin Summit.
Shoukry also stressed the important role played by the UN in the Libyan crisis, calling on all countries to cooperate with it to achieve the goals and aspirations of the Libyan people.
