Egypt, Sudan health ministers mull boosting ties

Health Minister Hala Zayed on Saturday 22/08/2020 held a virtual meeting with her Sudanese counterpart Sarah Abdel Azim to discuss means of boosting relations in the health field, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said in a statement.
The meeting was also attended by Egyptian and Sudanese officials to activate President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s initiative to treat one million Africans from the Hepatitis C virus.
The spokesman added that the initiative aims at examining 250,000 Sudanese people and sending 200,000 shots of Hepatitis C vaccine to Sudan.
Meanwhile, Abdel Azim thanked Egypt and Egyptian president over his directives to treat Hepatitis C patients in Sudan within the initiative.
Several virtual meetings will be held to coordinate and discuss means of activating the mutual health file, she added.
