Webinar of scientific committee to combat coronavirus

Health Minister Hala Zayed announced on Friday that Egypt, alongside six other international entities, is working on developing a vaccine for the COVID-19.
Addressing a webinar of the scientific committee to combat the coronavirus, the minister added that the vaccine has reached the third phase of clinical trials, adding that Egypt is ready to produce this vaccine as soon as approving it.
The webinar was also attended by Mohamed Awad el-Din, the presidential advisor for health affairs and a number of senior doctors and experts in the Middle East and the whole world.
The minister also hailed Egypt’s efforts to combat the coronavirus especially under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s initiative that was launched in 2018 to enhance the health of citizens, as well as developing health sector in order to face such health crises.

For his part, Tag el-Din thanked Zayed for her efforts to overcome the pandemic, adding that Egypt was keen on exchanging expertise with several countries, including China, the UK, France and the US to combat the novelle virus.

Also, the World Health Organization representative in Egypt Naima Al-Qasir asserted that Egypt had successfully managed the coronavirus crisis via adopting successful strategies and policies. She also said that a team of experts is expected to arrive in Egypt soon to study and evaluate the situation of manufacturing the COVID-19 vaccine.
