Sisi supports 'Eni' expansion in Egypt

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi praised on Sunday 30/8/2020 fruitful cooperation between the Egyptian government and Italy's Eni, voicing support for the company's investment expansion in the oil exploration and production fields.

 

Sisi’s remarks came during his meeting with Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi, along with Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli and Petroleum Minister Tarek el Molla, presidential spokesman Bassam Radi said.

 

Sisi was pleased with Eni's strong commitment to carrying out its projects, and directed to continue cooperation between the government and the company, amid growing interest in the Arab country to develop the energy sector.

 

The meeting aimed at following up Eni exploration and production activities in Egypt.

 

For his side, Descalzi thanked Sisi for Egypt’s supportive stance toward Italy amidst the outbreak of Corona virus, and applauded successful precautionary measures taken by the government to face the pandemic.
