Minister of Environment Yassmin Fouad and President of Vodafone Egypt Alexander Fruman on Tuesday signed a cooperation protocol aimed at carrying out a number of environmental activities as part of "Go Green" campaign for increasing environmental awareness. In statements following the signing ceremony, Fouad said the cooperation protocol will start with an E-Tadweer program for the recycling of wastes and the safe disposal of broken mobiles which are considered one of the dangers of waste affecting human health. She said the protocol aims at increasing the awareness of citizens and propelling the positive behaviours towards maintaining environmental sustainability, voicing hope that such a field would lure private companies to work in the field of environmental preservation. Meanwhile, Vodafone Egypt President Fruman said the E-Tadweer project is very important in the field of maintaining environmental protection as well as involving the private sector to support the sustainable development activities carried out by the governmental sector in Egypt. He said the technical support of the project will apply a points system for whoever willing to make a safe disposal of electronic wastes, adding that such points can be rewarded to customers upon purchasing any products from Vodafone branches nationwide.
