Sisi stresses importance of coordination with US to reach political solutions for regional crises

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed the importance of the strategic ties between Egypt and US, underlining the need to boost the cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
Sisi’s remarks came during his meeting with President of the World Jewish Congress Ronald Lauder in the presence of Head of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service (GIS) Abbas Kamel.
During the meeting, Sisi asserted that the current challenges have required more regular coordination and consultations between Cairo and Washington to help reach political resolutions to the regional crises, as well as the fighting against terrorism, Presidential spokesperson Bassam Radi said.
The meeting also touched on the developments of the peace process in the Middle East region, and some aspects of the Egyptian-US ties.
Louder praised the distinguished relations between the two countries and hailed the Egyptian role in establishing peace and stability in the Middle East as well as its approach in fighting terrorism and countering extremist thoughts.
He also commended the efforts of President Sisi in enhancing the values of tolerance, peace and coexistence.
Sisi, for his part, underscored the significance of international action right now to push forward resuming negotiations between the Israelis and Palestinians to reach a comprehensive and fair settlement to the Palestinian cause according to the agreed-upon international resolutions and terms of reference in a way that could open the road for prosperity, stability and peaceful coexistence to all peoples in the region.
