SIS press center denies presence of Lebanese Al Akhbar Newspaper in Egypt
Sunday، 20 September 2020 - 12:25 PM

The State Information Service (SIS)’s Foreign Correspondents Press Center said Lebanese Al Akhbar Newspaper has no official headquarters or any accredited correspondents in Egypt.
In press statements late Saturday, Director of the SIS's Foreign Correspondents Press Center Mohamed Imam said, the SIS is the only official body entitled to accredit foreign correspondents in Egypt.
Imam noted that any professional practice under the name of the paper is considered a violation of laws regulating correspondents’ work in Egypt, adding that violators will be subjected to legal action as per relevant regulations.
The statements were made in response to the paper's assaulting the Egyptian Press Syndicate, journalists and a number of Egyptian intellectuals over their political stances concerning the Arab issues, especially the Palestinian one.
