Al Ahly has registered a precious 2-0 away victory against Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca in the first leg of the African Champions League semifinals.
The Cairo giants took the commanding first-leg lead in Casablanca thanks to goals scored by Magdi Afsha just three minutes after the kick-off, and Ali Maaloul from the penalty spot in the 62nd minute.
Ahly goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawi managed to block a spot-kick for Wydad in the 43rd minute.
The Cairo International stadium will host the second-leg game on Friday, where a draw will be enough for the Egyptian champions to reach the final of the continent's most important football tournament.
