CWW 2020 kicks off under Sisi's patronage

Egypt's 3rd edition of Cairo Water Week (CWW) kicked off on Sunday 18/10/2020 under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and with the participation of a number of Arab and African ambassadors and top officials at the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation.
CWW is held as part of Egypt's deep interest in the issue of water and its placing on top of Cairo's political agenda in view of its importance in achieving sustainable and economic development.
CWW, which convenes from Oct 18-22, witnesses a series of conferences, with the theme “Water Security in Arid Regions the Road to Dakar 2021", emphasizing how water is essential asset to all aspects of our lives including livelihood, health, economy and environment.
Ensuring more equitable and sustainable access to water will ensure more progressive efforts towards reducing poverty and building peace to give practical transformative effect to the Sustainable Development Goals.
The conference is an important platform for professional engagement, the exchange and sharing of ideas, learning from others and identify areas for partnerships and collaborations. The key events at which activities associated with the topic will be proposed, are several recent events and discussions that would highlight the links between water security, sustainable development and international peace.
CWW is an annual event organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation in collaboration with 50 national, regional and international partners.
Concluding CWW, the Scientific Committee of the Cairo Water Week will select the best three projects and the winners from graduates of 2019/2020 of governmental, private and Arab Universities, who will present their work during a special session in Cairo Water Week.
