Azhar Grand Imam urges Egypt's expatriate students to be model for tolerance of Islam

Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb received Thursday Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Nabila Makram and a delegation of the Egyptian youths studying abroad.
During the meeting, Azhar Imam urged the Egyptian expatriate scholars to be a model for the tolerance and moderate Islam.
He said: "You have a role to get the world familiar with the moderate Islamic teachings and the civilization of Islam, which is far away from terrorism and extremism," adding that the regional conflicts are created by the west for the sake of selling their products of arms and increasing their wealth.
El Tayyeb said that Al Azhar spared no effort in combating extremism and hatred rhetoric, as well as establishing peace globally.
Makram hailed the vital role played by Al Azhar grand imam in spreading the Islamic teachings and the call for peaceful co-existence.
