PM says govt acts to maintain Egypt position on int'l tourism map

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said Tuesday his government is keen on always supporting the tourism sector, which he called a pivotal pillar of the Egyptian economy.

Madbouli, in a meeting with Minister of Tourism Khaled el Anani, said efforts should be exerted to maintain Egypt’s position on the international map of tourism.

The meeting took up implementation of a number of tourism projects, given challenges and obstacles facing this vital sector – atop of which the coronavirus pandemic.

Anani posted Madbouli on repercussions of the current circumstances for the tourism sector, resulting in slow implementation of some projects.

He added that his Ministry is acting to overcome those repercussions.

They also discussed preparations to move royal mummies to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization.

Madbouli stressed the need to make optimal use of such an important international event, which will be anticipated by the whole world. It would be a big event to promote travel to Egypt, the premier noted.
