Sports and Youth Minister Ashraf Sobhy on Saturday 21/11/2020 expressed his happiness for opening the first edition of the ministries league, wishing more participation of the civil servants in this sports event.

The launching ceremony of the league was held at the Olympic Center For Training National Teams in Cairo suburb of Maadi district with the presence of Higher Education Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Morsy, and Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Mohamed Abdel Ati.

Sobhy said the league's idea came in light of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's keenness to improve the citizens' health and encourage them to practice sports.

The league is being held from November 21 to 31 with the participation of 510 civil servants; 15 participants from each ministry.

It includes matches of five-a-side football for men and table tennis for women.
