Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhi urged the young people of Egypt to combat rumors and corruption and prioritize the national interests.
Sobhi made his appeal during a symposium hosted by Helwan University on Monday to discuss an initiative dubbed, "Egypt First, No Fanaticism," launched by the ministry and the Supreme Council of Media Regulation.
The minister stressed that since 2014, the political leadership in Egypt has always been committed to building a modern state.
He also highlighted the great attention President Abdel Fattah El Sisi pays to improving the conditions of youth and women, calling upon them to confront rumors and erroneous values.
Sobhi also reiterated his appeal for promoting positive sports values which call for making the spirit of competition a driving force for a healthy development of human relations and respecting the emotions of competing parties, their fans and administrative staff.
He said that the initiative must be part of the ministry's programs and activities for quite a long time to reach out to all young people in cooperation with the state bodies concerned.
