Sisi directs govt to start establishing plasma derivatives' centers in Egypt

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has directed the government to immediately start establishing plasma derivatives' centers in Egypt and developing an effective mechanism in cooperation with spanish pharmaceuticals company Grifols for ensuring the perfect management of such medical facilities.
Sisi's directives came during his meeting on Tuesday 24/11/2020 with Raimon Grífols and Victor Grífols, the CEOs of Grifols, in the presence of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Health and Population Minister Hala Zayed, Presidential Advisor for Health Affairs Mohamed Awad Tag el Din and Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and Technology Management Bahaa El Din Zidan.
During the meeting, President Sisi reviewed with Grifols officials the master plan for executing the national project to manufacture and assemble plasma derivatives in the country, said Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
The president called for speeding up the implementation rate of the project, which represents a strong addition to several national health projects carried out by the state, the spokesman added.
On their part, Grifols officials said they are willing to cooperate with Egypt with regard to assembling and manufacturing plasma derivatives, as well as exchanging experience and upgrading research centers working in this field.
