Egypt partakes in ministerial meeting between Southern Neighborhood countries, EU

Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs Ambassador Badr Abdel Ati participated on Friday 27/11/2020 in the virtual ministerial meeting between the Southern Neighborhood countries and the European Union.
The meeting is organized by the Spanish Foreign Ministry with the participation of the Spanish foreign minister, European foreign minister, and the high representative of the EU for foreign affairs and security policy.
During his speech, Abdel Ati reviewed current challenges faced by the Mediterranean region and Africa, including the coronavirus repercussions, illegal immigration, climate change, hate speech, and terrorism.
Abdel Ati affirmed the importance of respecting the religions and preventing insults to the religious symbols.
The assistant minister highlighted the need of energizing the economic cooperation between Southern Neighborhood countries and the European Union in many domains topped by agriculture, irrigation, health, industry, and renewable energy.
He pointed out to the Egyptian government's outstanding economic performance, which managed to successfully deal with the coronavirus ramifications.
He also asserted the necessity of cooperation on getting the coronavirus vaccines fairly and securely.
