President Abdel Fattah El Sisi instructed the government to accelerate the modernization of the bakery system nationwide.
Sisi's instructions came during his meeting on Tuesday 1/12/2020 with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Supply Minister Ali Moselhi, and Director General of the Armed Forces' National Service Projects Organization (NSPO) Mostafa Amin, said Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady.
The modernization of the bakery system requires ensuring nutritional health, improving production quality, and using clean energy, the spokesman quoted Sisi as saying.
The president also directed the government to provide funds necessary for turning diesel-powered bakeries into natural gas-powered ones, especially in light of the State's efforts to rationalize the use of energy and derive the ultimate economic benefits from natural resources.
Meanwhile, the supply minister posted the president on various stages of upgrading around 28,000 bakeries across the country as well as his ministry's plan to operate them with natural gas instead of diesel in cooperation with the relative bodies. The president was briefed on a blueprint for developing Edfina and Qaha companies for food industries, so that they could resume production, increase their competitive, and export capabilities.
