Petroleum Minister: Egypt one of few countries managed to achieve growth despite Covid-19

Petroleum Minister Tareq el Mulla on Saturday 19/12/2020 said Egypt is one of the few countries that managed to achieve economic growth despite the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
"The political leadership, throughout the past six years, has attached significant importance to meeting the the needs of the people and restoring Egypt's pioneering regional and international status," the minister said while addressing Akhbar El Youm economic forum.
He pointed out to the road map outlined by the leadership to maximize benefiting from resources and correcting the path of development.
The government has started introducing a set of economic reforms through the reformation of energy subsidy and enhancing its quality, Mulla said.
He further noted that the state managed to boost the growth rates, cut down budget deficit, reduce the unemployment rates and control the inflation rate.
