Tuesday، 19 January 2021 - 07:29 PM

Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) Abdel Moneim Al Tarras, Environment Minister Yasmin Fouad and New Valley Governor Mohamed Zamlout discussed on Tuesday setting up the first factory to recycle palm waste in the governorate.
During a meeting, they studied the outcomes of the experiment of manufacturing medium-density fibreboard (MDF) from palm fronds with high quality.
Fouad noted that today's meeting falls within the close cooperation between the AOI and Environment Ministry to make use of the agricultural waste and produce value-added materials, pointing out that the factory would reduce the pollution rates.
Meanwhile, Tarras lauded the cooperation with the ministry and governorate to establish an integrated industrial and agricultural project in line with the highest standards.
Tarras said the factory, set to be established in Kharga, will produce 60,000 cubic meters annually and will reduce the need to import MDF from abroad, pointing out that the local market needs 400,000 cubic meters of MDF.
