Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea and her Sudanese counterpart Madani Abbas Madani on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) during the meeting of the Egyptian Sudanese Economic Forum that was held in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum.
Following the signing ceremony, the Egyptian trade minister said cooperation between Cairo and Khartoum in the sector of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) could contribute to overcoming the challenges and obstacles to the success of such kind of business activity in Sudan.
Gamea explained that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi pays special attention to the SMEs sector, for being a main source of employment.
She went on to say that Egypt has a good experience in this sector, thanks to the effective role of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), which covers the areas of trade, industry and agriculture production.
Egypt has developed a strategy for advancing the SMEs sector, through providing all facilitation to establish and finance these ventures, as well as promoting their products via different exhibitions at home and abroad.
