Planning and economic Development Minister Hala el Saeed said on Thursday 28/1/2021 public investments of EGP 46.5 billion were directed to Cairo Governorate in the 2021/2021 plan, 18 percent up from 2019/2020 plan.

These investments represent 49.2 percent of public investment funded by the public treasury with 772 development projects to be carried out in the governorate, the minister said in a press release on the outlines of the 2020/2021 Citizen Investment Plan in Cairo governorate.

She said 10.9-billion-pound investments to be directed to the housing sector, EGP 11.8 billion for transport, EGP 4.5 billion for pre-university education, EGO 3.4 billion for local development, EGP 3.4 billion for higher education and EGP 12.5 billion for remaining sectors.
