Culture min. mourns death of veteran actor Ezzat el-Alaili

Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem mourned on Friday the death of renowned actor Ezzat el-Alaili, who passed away earlier in the day at the age of 86.
In statements, Abdel Dayem said the deceased star had many national positions that have been a model of devotion to the homeland and art, which she said helped him win the hearts of millions of people.
The minister added that Alaili achieved immortal glory in the history of Egyptian art, describing him as a legend in both acting and performance.
Abdel Dayem expressed her sincere condolences to his family, friends and fans.
Alaili was born on September 15, 1934 in Cairo’s Bab El Shaariya district. He got his BA degree from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in 1960 before starring in his first film Resala Men Emra'a Maghola (A Message from an Unknown Woman) in 1962.
He also starred in many TV series including Al Gama'a (The Group), Sanawat El Hob Wi El Malh (Years of Love and Salt), and Maw'ed Ma'a El Wohoosh (Rendezvous with Monsters).
Among his smash-hit movies are Al Tareek Ela Eilat (The Road to Eilat), Al Mowaten Masry (The Egyptian Citizen), and E'dam Qady (Execution of a Judge).
