Suez Canal revenues in 2020 hit USD 5.6 bn despite COVID-19

The Cabinet’s media center asserted on Saturday 06/02/2021 that the Suez Canal had stood against the negative consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic
and achieve USD 5.6 billion in 2020.
In a report that included inphographics published today, the cabinet noted that the Suez Canal succeeded in dealing with a number of challenges that followed the pandemic including a drop in the flow of international trade as well as the decline of all indexes of countries.
The report added that the Suez Canal had implemented a number of incentives to attract more vessels to cross the Canal, adding that these incentives succeeded in reaching their goals that were lauded by a number of international institutions that said that the Suez Canal had played a great role in international navigation traffic and attracting more investments to Egypt.
