Egypt, US discuss military cooperation

Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lt. Gen. Mohamed Farid met on Monday with Commander of the US Central Command Kenneth McKenzie and his accompanying delegation, currently visiting Egypt.
The meeting tackled several issues of common concern, topped by military cooperation and exchange of expertise between the armed forces of both countries.
The two commanders discussed several other regional and international issues and ways of achieving security and stability in the region, in addition to military exercises between Egypt and the US.
Farid praised deeply-rooted relations between Egypt and the US.
For his part, McKenzie affirmed his country's keenness to boost partnership and coordination with Egypt, expressing hope that the coming period would witness more cooperation in a manner that serves the common interests of both countries.
