Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Egyptian Space Agency Mohammed El Quosy said a four-year plan has been outlined to prepare Egyptian astronauts and once it is approved by specialized bodies it will be immediately announced.

These remarks were made in a videoconference meeting organized by the Technological Innovation Commercial Office (TICO), affiliated to the Egyptian E-Learning University (EELU), in cooperation with the Egyptian Space Agency.

The meeting is one of a series of meetings aimed at responding to questions by citizens on the progress of the Egyptian space industry.

Quosy asserted that Egypt has made big steps in the field of satellites, noting that there are five satellites which are currently in orbit thanks to the Egyptian technical cadres and they have been launched into space with the help of Japan and the US.

He also noted that the Egyptian Space Agency is currently working to launch an educational platform for space technology, which is due in April, providing 17 educational programs for those who are interested in space sciences.
