PM: State attaches great importance to digital transformation to improve public services

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli chaired on Thursday 25/2/2021 a meeting with Communications and Information Technology Minister Amr Talaat to stand on the progress rate of a number of projects carried out by the ICT ministry.
At the start of the meeting, Madbouli renewed the State’s interest in digital transformation as it plays a big role in improving services offered to citizens in different sectors.
Talaat referred to the digital transformation projects carried out by his ministry, including Digital Egypt Project that aims at reinforcing governance and the wise management of state resources.
He said 45 government services were launched at Digital Egypt platform, adding that 1.1 million citizens are using the platform.
Users are expected to reach 5 million by the end of the year, he said, adding that 19 new services will be added to the portal in March covering judicial, traffic, supply, social housing and civil status services.
He also referred to "Future Work is Digital" initiative, an online tech learning and freelancing scholarship powered by ITIDA under Digital Egypt Initiative.
The initiative aims to empower the talented youth and practitioners with technological and remote working skills as well as the essential tools to successfully lead the future of work.
Talaat said 111 young people are now registered in the initiative.
