Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Mostafa Waziri said an ancient and unique cannon had been recently moved to Alexandria's Citadel of Qaitbay as part of efforts to maintain Egypt's history.

In statements to MENA on Saturday 27/02/2021, Waziri pointed to offering all forms of support to preserve the country's artifacts.

The Armstrong cannon, which dates back to 1840, the era of Muhammad Ali dynasty, and it was used in a battle to confront a British aggression on Alexandria on June 11, 1882.
