PM: Sinai development tops govt's priorities

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli has stressed that the development of Sinai tops the government's priorities based on directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The premier made the remarks Tuesday during a meeting with Education Minister Tareq Shawqi to review ongoing projects in North Sinai and South Sinai.
Madbouli instructed the minister to focus on vocational education across Egypt, particularly in Sinai, which enjoys numerous natural and mining resources and skilled manpower.
Shawqi said regular visits are paid to educational facilities in North Sinai and South Sinai to enhance education.
A total of 65 educational projects were carried out from July 2014 till now in Sinai, including establishing 29 new schools and increasing the capacity of 33 others.
Also, 39 schools were supplied with fiber cables as part of a project to improve education at high schools, the minister noted.
The minister also spoke of schools opened or scheduled to be opened soon in Sinai to improve vocational education.
