Planning Minister: Egypt needs $20bln to achieve SDGs

Planning Minister Hala el Saeed said on Tuesday that Egypt is in need of 20 billion dollars to achieve its sustainable development goals by 2030.
In a speech read out by her deputy Sherif Dawood at the 7th African Regional Forum for Sustainable Development in the Republic of Congo, Saeed said Egypt has integrated the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and AU Agenda 2063 into its national sustainable development plans.
Egypt is keen on assessing the implementation of such SDGs on an annual basis in various sectors to overcome any challenge, the minister said noted.
Egypt attaches great importance to the environmental conditions when it carries out economic projects, she said, adding that 15 percent of the ongoing projects are based on green technology.
