Transport Minister Kamel el Wazir said the State implements a comprehensive plan to develop all ports and regulate the maritime transport market to qualify Egypt to be a hub of transit trade, logistics, and ship services worldwide.
Wazir's remarks came on Tuesday during his inspection tour at Ain Sokhna Port accompanied by Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone Yehia Zaki.
Ahead of the tour, a meeting was held to discuss the work progress that is being implemented at the port.
The officials at the meeting decided to form a higher committee, headed by the transport minister, to manage the development project in order to implement the presidential directives to turn the port into a global one, according to its scheduled timetable.
