PM: State attaches utmost importance to confronting challenges facing industry sector

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli asserted that the state attaches great importance to the industry sector which is facing various challenges, highlighting the role of the House of Representatives' industry committee in this regard.
The premier's remarks were made during his meeting with Minister of Trade and Industry Neveen Gamea, Head of the Parliamentary Majority Ashraf Rashad, who is also secretary general of "Mostaqbal Watan" Party and Head of the House of Representatives' Industry Committee Moataz Mahmoud.
The meeting comes as part of a series of meetings between the government and the parliament's specialized committees.
The premier noted that the government has already taken tangible steps in the automobiles' sector, making a brief review of the presidential initiative to replace, scrape and convert old cars and vehicles to work with clean energy, “natural gas”.
The government has also succeeded in implementing the presidential directives to pay the burdens of exporting arears, noting that all efforts are exerted to encourage the local industry and provide basic industrial needs which are imported from abroad.
As regards the exporting arears, Gamea said EGP 20 billion have already been paid by the government, adding that 7 industrial complexes have been offered for sale and payment is via installments to help in supporting various strategic industries through young investors.
Also, the parliament's industrial committee chief voiced happiness over the state's support to the industrial sector, saying that such initiatives help the parliament to probe important ideas for the progress of the industry under the strong support of the political leadership.
