Cabinet probes promoting cultural activities with senior lawmakers

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli chaired a meeting on Monday with Chairman of the parliament's culture, media and antiquities committee Dorreya Sharafeddin.
The ministers of culture, tourism and antiquities, the state minister for information minister and head of Mostaqbal Watan's (Nation's Future) parliamentary caucus Ashraf Rashad attended the meeting, which was held as part of the cabinet's coordination meetings with chiefs of the parliament's specialized committees.
Sharafeddin stressed the committee's willingness to iron out any legislative barriers to facilitate the government work, expressing her hope for promoting participation in cultural activities nationwide.
She also applauded the recent achievements in the tourism and antiquities sector, highlighting the need to give adequate attention to cultural programs in media products.
Touching upon her ministry's efforts to promote cultural activities nationwide, Minister of Culture Enas Abdel Dayyem said over 25 culture palaces had been opened over the past few years, and coordination is under way with the Youth and Sports Ministry to make use of its affiliated buildings for various cultural events.
Meanwhile, Rashad underlined the importance of maximizing the use of youth and sport centers for various cultural activities.
