The Cabinet media center has dismissed as groundless reports alleging that the new Delta national project is fruitless because there are no water resources necessary for irrigating its farmlands.
In a statement, the center said it contacted the ministries of agriculture and irrigation which dismissed such reports and affirmed that water resources are available for the project.
It added that the project is part of one of the most important national strategies aiming at achieving food security and reducing imports of strategic food commodities.
The center affirmed that all water needs are provided through subterranean waters and treating 6 to 3 million cubic meters of wastewater.
It appealed to social media users and media outlets to be accurate in the reports they publish and contact the official parties concerned in order not to circulate incorrect and misleading information about national projects.
