Int'l Coop min.: NGOs to play important role in Egypt 2030 vision

International Cooperation Minister Rania el Mashat said on Friday 07/05/2021 that NGOs are expected to play an important role in development in the upcoming period within the Egypt 2030 development vision.
This came during her speech at a panel discussion organized by the Permanent Mission of Egypt to the United Nations in Geneva on the legal framework for civil society in Egypt. The online seminar, moderated by head of the mission
Ambassador Ahmed Ihab Gamaleldin, was also attended by Social Solidarity Minister Nivine El-Kabbag, a number of ambassadors, members of parliament, representatives of NGOs and other figures concerned worldwide.
Mashat also asserted that her ministry is working on supporting NGOs in Egypt via holding international partnerships.
For her part, Minister Kabbag reviewed the executive regulations of the law no. 149 of 2019 on regulating the work of civil society. She asserted that Egypt is keen on supporting human rights, good governance, participation in public action and achieving sustainable development and digital transformation.
