Minister: Egypt offers promising development opportunities for foreign investment

Finance Minister Mohamed Maait said Friday 30/07/2021 Egypt's national projects create promising development opportunities for local and foreign investment, in a way that contributes to providing more jobs and cementing the structure of the national economy.
Meeting Indian Ambassador in Cairo Ajit Gupte, the minister added that the government encourages the business community to expand their investment and production activities, which helps maximize exports and enhance competitiveness in global markets.
We are looking forward to boosting foreign investments, especially in the most attractive sectors, including energy, petrochemicals, medicine, communications and information technology, iron and steel, and transportation, Maait said.
The ministry is seeking to attract new segments of foreign investors, including Indians, he added.
The ministry is also working to overcome all obstacles and challenges that may face foreign investors, the minister said.
The government is continuing with structural reforms to achieve financial stability and maintain a sustainable growth rate, he added.
In turn, the Indian ambassador praised the positive results of the Egyptian economic reform program, reflected in the improvement of economic performance indicators and the flexible handling of the coronavirus pandemic impacts.
He affirmed the Indian companies' aspiration to pump more investments in the Suez Canal Economic Zone and Port Said in vital fields, including recycling, renewable energy, electricity, water desalination, medicine, dry ports, to benefit from the incentive investment packages in Egypt.
