Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said the government is mulling a strategic plan on revitalizing yacht tourism, with a view to facilitating measures meant to promote water tourism, in line with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives.
During a Cabinet meeting Sunday, the prime minister said yacht tourism constitutes an additional value to the booming tourism sector in Egypt.
Madbouli referred to the importance of the strategy, in light of Egypt's location overlooking the Mediterranean and the Red Sea, with coasts extending along the two key global waterways.
He reiterated the importance of facilitating measures before tourists, especially that Egypt is brimming with breathtaking beaches.
Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled el-Enani and Minister of Transport Kamel el-Wazir took part in the meeting, among others.
A higher ministerial committee has been formed to draw up a scheme for luring yacht tourism, Wazir said.
According to the minister, the committee will be in charge of updating marine maps nationwide, along with encouraging yachts and boats' frequent visits to Egyptian beaches, thus boosting nautical tourism.
All problems impeding yacht tourism will be studied to remove them, he noted.
