Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said Saturday 25/09/2021 the light rail transit (LRT) project will be ready with the opening of the New Administrative Capital.

It would be able to transport tens of thousands of passengers daily, Madbouli added.

It was scheduled to be opened within four years. However, it was completed within just two years, he said.

The first phase’s cost amounts to about $1.3 billion, in addition to the combined workshop that cost $200 million, fully financed by the Egyptian government, Madbouli said.

This project is part of an integrated transportation system implemented by the Egyptian state nationwide, which will represent a real revolution in the mass transportation system, he added.
