The 21st edition of the Ismailia International Folklore Festival

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Ismailia Governorate, the activities of the 21st edition of the Ismailia International Festival for Folklore, organized by the General Authority for Culture Palaces headed by director Hisham Atwa, in cooperation with the External Cultural Relations Sector headed by Dr. Sabri Saeed, will be held from 25 to 30 October 2021 in the open theater At the Ismailia Culture Palace, with the participation of 8 international Arab and foreign teams from Jordan, Congo, Azerbaijan, Palestine, Sudan, Mexico, Indonesia and Nepal, in addition to 9 local teams representing more than 8 Egyptian governorates, which are Ismailia, Luxor, Sharkia, Arish, Aswan, Assiut, Sohag, Matrouh.
The festival is a global event that conducts an artistic dialogue between different peoples based on the local human heritage. The event activities present examples of cultures that reflect the values of many societies.
The performances will be held in 7 theaters inside and outside the city of Ismailia: Al-Tal Al-Kabeer, Al-Dinfah, Sheikh Zayed, Al-Fayrouz, Al-Qantara and Fayed. The opening ceremony will witness the establishment of two fairs, one for the book and the other for plastic arts.
The closing ceremony includes honoring the participating international teams and a number of Egyptian folklore figures.
