Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed al Tayyeb said Saturday 04/12/2021 that the relation between Al Azhar and Vatican is considered as a role model for spreading tolerance and peace as well as combating extremism, hatred, wars and conflicts.

This came during his meeting with President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue (PCID) Miguel Ángel and Vatican Ambassador to Egypt Archbishop Nicolas Henry in which a number of Azhar scholars and leaderships also attended.

During the meeting, Tayyeb noted that the world will not reach stability by arms economy that incites wars and kill people but will settle by spreading the norms of coexistence.

While Angel hailed the Azhar-Vatican efforts led by Tayyeb and Pope Francis to reach stability and peace in the world.
