UN coordinator lauds presidential Decent Life initiative

UN Resident Coordinator Elena Panova has stressed that the United Nations works closely with the Egyptian government, represented in the Ministry of International Cooperation, on taking future steps to contribute to implementing the presidential “Decent Life” initiative.

Panova and Minister of International Cooperation Rania Mashat on Tuesday 7/12/2021chaired a meeting of the United Nations Partnership Development Framework (UNPDF) with the participation of more than 75 representatives of UN agencies and organizations and respective ministries and authorities, among others.

The resident coordinator noted that the UN also works with the government through organizing field visits for the beneficiaries of the initiative, holding regular meetings with parties concerned to probe possible channels of cooperation and holding consultations on the integrated method of strategic partnership under this initiative.

Panova praised partnership with the Egyptian government to push forward the state development strategy, particularly this presidential initiative, to achieve the goals of the 2030 agenda on sustainable development.

The meeting also addressed means to promote partnerships between the UN and the government to serve the goals of sustainable development and the Decent Life initiative.

Mashat underscored the importance of that strategic partnership, that has lasted for decades covering different domains.
