President Sisi attends the Closing Ceremony of Upper Egypt Week

President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi attended on Tuesday 28-12-2021 an artistic celebration held at the Roman Theater following the opening of New Aswan City, at the conclusion of the Upper Egypt Week.

The celebration began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Sheikh Ayman Akl, followed by the screening of a documentary film produced by the Department of Moral Affairs of the Egyptian Armed Forces entitled “The City of Gold”.

The film reviewed the masterpieces of urbanization in Upper Egypt, noting that the wheel of development in Upper Egypt is rotating, in accordance with Egypt’s Vision 2030. In this respect, the Ministry of Housing faced serious challenges and established a number of urban communities and residential cities in Upper Egypt, including the New Qena and the New Minya, is built on an area of ​​31 thousand acres and includes residential areas for all segments. This is in addition to the new Akhmim city, the new Assiut city, the Assiut Plateau Axis Road, linking Assiut to Nasser City project, which is one of the fourth generation cities, and the first in Upper Egyptthat is located in the western Assiut Plateau, as well as the establishment of social housing in the city of Toshka.

Moreover, the film highlighted the establishment of 6 cities within the framework of the strategic plan for urban development in Egypt that aims at completing the construction of the fourth generation cities. This includes the new city of Aswan and a tourist walkway.

Actor Amr Saad, who is from Upper Egypt, hailed the developments that happened in Upper Egypt governorates over the past seven years, pointing to the establishment of fourth-generation cities and mega projects across Upper Egypt.

The "Visual identity of Aswan" project was displayed. The project was carried out by students of the German University in Cairo (GUC).

In this regard, President Sisi hailed the project as beautiful and amazing, saying he wishes it to be emulated at government buildings, railway stations, buses, bus stops and airports.

Then, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi witnessed a music show including a group of songs, in addition to Egyptian folk dance show using wooden sticks.

In his speech to the participants in the ceremony, President Sisi said that the major development projects that the state has implemented in Upper Egypt governorates are just one step out of a thousand steps.

Afterwards, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi honored successful personalities from Upper Egypt governorates on the sidelines of the celebration.

Sisi honored students of the German University in Cairo for outlining the visual identity project of Aswan and engineers who took part in development works in Aswan.



The president also honored, Youssef Nasser Fouad, the youngest volunteer participating in the “Decent Life” initiative, as the most committed and the most present.
