Local Development Minister Mahmoud Shaarawi praised the existing cooperation between the Local Development Ministry and the World Bank (WB) for implementing several projects and programs in governorates nationwide, topped by development projects in Upper Egypt governorates of Sohag and Qena.

Shaarawi’s comments came during his reception, at the ministry HQ, a delegation World Bank delegation, chaired by Country Director for Egypt, Yemen and Djibouti Marina Wes.

Shaarawi highlighted Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives for applying the Upper Egypt development program as a comprehensive local development model for all the governorates in the coming three years.

For her side, Wes reiterated the World Bank’s readiness to continue its full technical support for the Local Development Ministry for implementing the presidential Decent Life initiative nationwide.
